Vacancies on City Commission

The City of Dixon is currently accepting applications for the following vacancies on a City Commission:

Two (2) vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Commission.  Commissioners serve two-year terms, with a maximum of three consecutive terms.  However, these vacancies will fill unexpired terms through June 30, 2026.  A stipend of $75.00 per meeting attended is paid to each Commissioner.

One (1) Student Representative and One (1) Alternate Student Representative on the Parks and Recreation Commission.  The City of Dixon is currently accepting applications for one (1) Student Representative, and one (1) Alternate Student Representative on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Student Representative must be in his or her senior year of high school, and the Alternate Student Representative must be in his or her junior year of high school. The Student Representative is expected to attend all Parks & Recreation Commission meetings. The Alternate Student Representative will fill in for the Student Representative when the Student Representative is unable to attend Commission meetings.  It is expected that the Alternate Student Representative will apply to become the Student Representative the following school year. The term to be served is through June 30, 2026.

The Parks and Recreation Commission is an advisory body to the City Council on matters pertaining to recreation and parks facilities.  The Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  City residency is required.

Interested Dixon residents may obtain an application at City Hall, 600 East A Street, by calling 678-7000, or by visiting the City’s website at www.cityofdixonca.gov.  The deadline for filing applications is 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025.
