In the early hours of August 14, 2024, at approximately 1:45 AM, Dixon Police Department officers responded to a report of a person struck by a train in the area of Porter Road and South Almond Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased individual at the scene.

The Dixon Police Department is actively collaborating with Union Pacific Railroad in their ongoing investigation into the incident. At this time, there is no indication of foul play, and it appears to be an unfortunate accident.
