The SCMAD Board of Trustees meetings are held on the second Monday of every month. Meetings are held at the District office, 2950 Industrial Court, Fairfield at 7:30 p.m.
Duties and responsibilities of the SCMAD Board include setting policy, approving the annual budget, approving expenditures, hiring of the District manager, and retaining legal counsel.
District trustees are required to complete ethics (AB 1234) and harassment (AB 1825) training every two years. The SCMAD is a member of the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California (MVCAC) which holds quarterly and annual meetings providing valuable industry information and training for trustees.
Board members govern the Solano County Mosquito Abatement District knowledgeably and effectively. Persons appointed to boards of trustees should have experience, training, and education in fields that will assist in the governance of the district.
All trustees shall exercise their independent judgment on behalf of the interests of the residents, property owners, and the public. The trustees shall represent the interests of the public as a whole and not solely the interests of the board of supervisors or the city council that appointed them.
