NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Dixon on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024 for the following offices:
City Mayor (elected at-large representing the entire City): Full Term of Four Years
City Treasurer (elected at-large representing the entire City): Full Term of Four Years
City Councilmember, District 3: Full Term of Four Years
City Councilmember, District 4: Full Term of Four Years
Official nomination documents for eligible candidates desiring to file for the above offices will be available commencing Monday, July 15, 2024, at City Hall, 600 East A Street, Dixon, California. The nomination period for these offices begins on July 15, 2024 and closes on August 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates must be 18 years old or older, reside and be registered to vote within the City of Dixon. Candidates running for City Council must also reside within the District for which they are running.
Filing of nomination papers shall occur by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (707) 678-7000 or by email at lruiz@cityofdixon.us. Candidates are encouraged to schedule appointments as early as possible to ensure nomination paperwork is completed and properly filed prior to the deadline.
If an incumbent officer of the City does not file nomination papers by August 9, 2024 (the 88th day before the election), the voters will have until the 83rd day before the election (August 14, 2024) to nominate other candidates for that incumbent’s elective office.
If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Elections Code Section 10229 of the State of California.
The City of Dixon charges candidates the following nomination fees:

In addition, those who choose to have their "Candidate Statement of Qualifications" printed in the Voter Information Guide issued by the County Registrar of Voters must bear the actual cost of printing and distribution. Candidates who opt for this printing are required to pay the fee when the nomination paper and forms are filed with the City Elections Official.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Resolution 24-096: Resolution of the City Council of the City of Dixon, California, Calling and Giving Notice for the Holding of a General Municipal Election to be Held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 for the Election of Certain Officers, as Required by the Provisions of the Laws of the State of California Relating to General Law Cities; Requesting the Board of Supervisors of Solano County to Permit the County Registrar of Voters to Render Election Services; and Requesting the Consolidation of Said Election with the Statewide General Election Held on the Same Date.
