Lifeguarding

The City of Dixon employs aquatics staff through the March – October season to lifeguard for programs that include: lap/recreational swim, swim team practice, and private pool rentals. Upward mobility is available; we coach and train staff to achieve high proficiency in lifeguarding skills. The skills learned from lifeguarding (problem-solving, communication, teamwork, leadership) are invaluable and transferrable to other jobs and fields of study. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and Title 22 First Aid certification (valid for two years, and accepted nation-wide), and will be eligible to apply for the City of Dixon Lifeguard position.
