Fire Prevention Week is held the first full week of October. An open house with demonstrations is held at the Fire Station, and educational materials are presented at the elementary schools.
Fire Station tours are offered to all organizations and individuals interested in visiting the fire station to learn about fire safety and firefighter’s duties. Individuals and organizations can call the Fire Station to make an appointment. When possible the Fire Department can travel to outside locations upon request for special presentations. A presentation can be made on fire safety topics and can include handing out educational materials.
Business safety inspections are conducted annually and home inspections can be conducted upon request.
The Smoke Detector Program includes installing smoke alarms in privately owned residences. They are not available for apartments or rental homes.
