The City of Dixon owns and operates the majority of the utility infrastructure within the City of Dixon. The Utilities Division consists of Water Operations, Collections (Stormwater), and Wastewater Treatment Facility, all of which are partnered with Engineering staff to form the Department of Engineering/Utilities. The Engineering/Utilities Department is responsible for the design of residential and commercial developments, construction oversight of infrastructure within the City Right-of-Way, and operation and maintenance of utilities used, owned, and enjoyed by the public. The utility infrastructure includes the municipal water distribution system/facilities, storm drainage collection system/facilities, sewer collection system, and Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The Department's mission is to develop, operate, and cost-effectively maintain public facilities and structures while providing a safe and healthy environment.
