MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following measure is to be voted on at the General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Dixon, on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024.

Measure J: Keep Dixon Dixon Measure

Shall the measure maintaining local control of the City of Dixon’s financial stability and essential services such as 911 emergency response times, fire/paramedic protection; retaining/attracting firefighters/paramedics/police; preventing crime; providing safe routes to school; keeping public spaces safe/clean; attracting/retaining local businesses; repairing streets/potholes; by establishing a 1¢ sales tax until ended by voters, providing approximately $3,000,000 annually, requiring public spending disclosures/all funds used locally, be adopted?

YES

NO

A vote in favor of Measure J would authorize an additional 1% sales tax within the City of Dixon. If the measure passes, the sales tax rate in the City of Dixon would increase from 7.375% to 8.375%. It is estimated that the proposed sales tax will provide an additional Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) in annual local funding. This sales tax is a “general tax,” meaning that revenues raised from the tax would go into the City’s general fund to pay for any lawful City program, service, or improvement. The tax would be collected in the same manner as existing sales taxes. All ordinances and resolutions related to Measure J are available for review with the City Clerk or can be found at: https://www.cityofdixonca.gov/departments/Elections.
